"Those pixies all have a death wish, clearly," Cloud mumbles, a briefly solemn look flashing across his face. Farm boy that he is, he knows how powerful the wrath of those birds can be. His money is on the chickens winning.
It quickly shifts back to that pouty, disinterested look he so often has. Angeal is... Making sense. Well, his logic is, though the context is absolute nonsense. "Unless time is frozen back there, I ain't gonna stop trying to get home. An' I got no way to know if things are stopped."
A little bit of Cloud's Nibelheim twang comes through as he speaks- perhaps the chicken talk was enough to get him going without realizing it.
Despite his efforts to keep up his front, a small frown that is...Perhaps slightly wistful tugs at the corners of his mouth. Deep down, a lot of his need to get out of this is that his only friends are back there. Responsibilities aside, Cloud...Feels a bit of a hole where waking up to Red and Barret mock-bickering or Tifa and Aerith giggling amongst themselves was. All he's found here are multiple ghosts of Shinra past: one who haunts his nightmares, and the other two who seem to know him in ways he doesn't understand at best and in ways that physically harm him at worst. All this on top of being in a town that reminds him of home, which hurts in a different way.
Cloud kind of hates it here. As far as he's concerned, there is nothing for him here outside of doing odd jobs and trying to leave.

"But yeah. I guess I can agree something is up."
