He isn't a morning person by any means. In fact, he's actually closer to nocturnal. He usually wakes up sometime in the afternoon and heads out once the sun is going down. Since it's snowy/cloudier than usual this time of year, he's out a bit more.
Despite being known as that guy who made moonshine in his tub that knocked out an Ancient, he's really not all that interesting to observe. He just kind of... lives, whatever that looks like. Shopping at the market, finding new books on conjuration magic to read, and getting into a bit of fun trouble now and again.
No, it's other people who are fun to observe and Ardyn thinks so too. Don't worry if he seemingly appears everywhere you are. Purely coincidence, surely.
What would a casual observer know of their habits and personality?:
Ardyn talks a big game and is very performative in his actions, but keeps himself measured in a lot of ways. (Except when it comes to alcohol since then he has almost no self-control.) Only a select few outside of his canon know about his violent tendencies, as an example, and he holds his cards close to his chest. He does his best to appear unbothered and level where he can in order to keep the upper hand.
He very much plays 'The Fool' and wants people to think he's just a harmless idiot. People are free to notice this or call it out, but he'll always be ready to deflect or dissuade any true suspicion of his character. Obviously, people from his canon have a lot to say about how horrible he is but so far here he's seemingly just a dithering older man.
He's not, but he wants everyone to think he is.
How are they publicly handling their changes?:
Fine, as far as anyone knows. Ardyn hasn't spoken a lot to or drawn much attention to his changes thus far. In fact, he seemingly didn't even notice them for quite some time.
He isn't really adjusting anything for his changes though. By now, he's a lot more furry and has larger clawed hands and teeth. While still tall, his legs have curved a bit to be satyr-esque. His tail is short and fatter and wings are, uh, melted? Don't worry about it. His feet are larger with talons, too, so he's been going barefoot. The cold doesn't seem to bother him as he's a silver dragon with frost resistance.
Anything else you'd like easily known?:
He leaks, sometimes. Not like that, no- With his dragon-bond changes, The Scourge has been trying to 'heal' or 'correct' his body in strange ways. That means sometimes he's just a little... gooey. If asked about it, he'll just cite it as an 'old affliction' and not want to go into too much detail but that sure is a thing that's happening more often!
Bonus round:
Recently, he's started offering to natives and offworlders alike conjuration classes after taking an interest in the art. Anyone is free to notice or draw attention to this interest and ask about it.
He's able to conjure his own familiar(s) in the form of lesser daemons from FFXV canon. He will reassure anyone who might hear from his cast how deadly they are that they can't do near the same level of destruction here as home. They may go rogue now and again, sure, but it's just another monster to fell that can't replicate or reproduce anyway. Totally fine!
